Somerville Spring Cleanup Scheduled for Saturday, April 22
Community BBQ with family friendly activities including a spring egg hunt to be held at Blessing of the Bay Boat House following cleanup at noon with partners Groundwork Somerville & Comcast Cares
SOMERVILLE – Join the City of Somerville, Groundwork Somerville, and Comcast Cares for the annual Spring Cleanup and Community Barbecue on Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A rain date has been set for Saturday, April 29. All participants are invited to meet at the Blessing of the Bay Boat House on Shore Drive, at 9 a.m. for breakfast and coffee before setting out to your ward (note that coffee and breakfast will not be served at each ward.)

Residents are invited to join Ward Captains and City officials in each of the City’s seven wards to help prepare the city for the spring and summer by planting flowers, weeding open spaces, and otherwise cleaning our community following the long winter months. T-shirts and hats will be provided to all participants from 10 a.m. to noon at all cleanup locations. All participants are invited to a community barbecue immediately following the cleanup from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse on Shore Drive. The community barbeque will feature activities for children and adults including a spring egg hunt, yoga and meditation, and interactive activities to learn about sustainability and the environment
