Mayor's Summer Jobs Program

The Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program is a career readiness opportunity for Somerville youth that encourages career exploration, workplace and interpersonal skill development, and connection with community and peers. There are several workplace opportunities available in the Parks and Recreation Department, Somerville Public Schools, within the private sector, and throughout all our City government departments. Schedules vary based on placement, but all youth who are hired can expect to work a maximum of 20 hours per week for approximately six weeks. Starting July 7th and ending August 15th. Parkour Internship & Summer Employment

Come learn parkour with us while also building valuable job skills! We’re looking for fun, energetic, and curious coaches to join our awesome team! 1. Spring Internship - We meet at The Dojo @ Somernova (15 Properzi St) every Wednesday from 3-6pm. Learn the basics, build your skills, help your community! 2. April Break Instructor Training - Take the ADAPT Instructor Training course over April Break (Tue - Fri). There is an additional opportunity to take the course in early July. 3. Spring Events - After you take the course, we’ll have you help with some of our spring events and programs! 4. Get paid $$$ - Apply to join our summer coaching team! Coaching rates start at $18/hr! Join the PATH Program (Promoting Advancement in Tourism and Hospitality)

Earn compensation while acquiring practical experience in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Candidates should be 18 years or older. Minimum education of highschool or GED. Bring a positive ‘can do’ attitude and develop effective communication abilities. We are looking for flexible candidates ready to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work setting.
