Join astronomy teacher (and Somerville resident!) Alex Trunnell for a 90 minute program including a presentation and, weather depending, an observing session to view the wonders of the autumn sky!

This is an all ages event, best geared for school age kids through adults. We'll begin the evening with a presentation and STEAM activity on constellations, and then head outside in hopes of viewing Jupiter, Saturn, and more through a 9.25” telescope!

Alex has been teaching about space for almost a decade in schools, museums, and observatories. Her astronomical research is in exoplanet detection, and she has used big telescopes with both Vassar College and MIT to hunt for extraterrestrial life. She is currently a Math, Science, and Technology teacher at Meridian Academy in JP.

Please include your contact info should there be changes in this event.

This event has been funded by the Friends of the Somerville Public Library!
