Meditating on kindness, compassion and human connection is one of the traditional ways to build resiliency during times of stress. In partnership with the Somerville Public library, Mindful Boston will be offering a meditation event.

The 60 minutes that we spend together will include:

a) discussion about meditation and mindfulness

b) instructions on how to meditate

c) experiencing a meditation

No previous experience is required; the meditation will be easy for beginners to understand. The external world might or might not change, but let’s see if we can meet it in new ways. Please join us! This event is for adult learners.

About the meditation teacher: Gena Bean is the director of Mindful Boston, a studio for the practice and cultivation of compassionate present moment awareness (a.k.a. mindfulness). Gena has been officially teaching meditation students since 2004, drawing on her personal practice that began in the late 1980's. She designs the studio curriculum at MindfulBoston.com to be a support for "stick-to-it-iveness," helping meditation students to develop sustainable practices for a lifetime of benefits.

This event is made possible with funding by the Friends of the Somerville Public Library. Thanks, Friends!
