Block of the Month Club: Introduction to Quilting

Main content

Submitted by Anonymous on

This one-hour sewing class will focus on the basics of machine-piecing a quilt block. Participants will practice operating library sewing machines, pressing seams, and rotary cutting. We will all sew the same traditional quilt block using library-supplied fabric and tools. Additional fabric is available for practice, but participants are welcome and encouraged to bring their own fabric if a specific color or pattern is desired.

This session will not include basting, machine quilting, or otherwise finishing a piece, but will include a discussion of possible options!

This is the first in a series of sewing classes; for questions about this and future events, please contact Jane at jphilbrick@somervillema.gov.
