Discover Furoshiki, the ancient Japanese art of gift-wrapping with textiles, with international artist Nefertiti San Miguel, and take a cultural journey to learn this singular technique.
Each participant will use existing materials already available around the house while learning the concepts of Mottainai and Kaizen. Spark your creativity by gracefully swathing items of different sizes, such as hexagonal boxes, glass bottles, books, picture frames and more. Master the presentation of elegantly wrapped gifts for any occasion and amaze your loved ones with the artistic form and function of one magical square of cloth.

About the Presenter:
Nefertiti San Miguel is an accomplished mixed media artist, with a diplomatic background who has been dedicated to promoting world culture through dance, educational programs and functional art. Her eclectic style has been featured in television stations, newspapers and magazines, in her native land Venezuela as well as in the U.S.A. She is the happy founder of Etnia Fusion, a company showcased in more than 100 high profile events and cultural festivals through Washington State, South Florida, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Her performances have been showcased by The Consulate General of Japan in Miami, Palm Beach State College, Cambridge Arts Council, The Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism of Providence and the Hood River School District, to mention a few.
