Science educator Jessica Garrett leads a Windmill Blade Design Challenge!
Have you ever looked up at giant windmills and wondered how the narrow blades catch any wind at all? Come design, decorate, and test your own windmill blades and see what you think works best. Learn how windmills generate electricity. Attach your blades to a small turbine and see if your blades can generate enough power to light up a light!
This activity is best for ages 8-13.
