Elizabeth Peabody House OST Program

Our afterschool program serves children ages 5-13 in the greater Somerville area. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care (EEC). At the heart of the program is an enriching and engaging curriculum that simultaneously bolsters students’ in-school coursework while expanding their educational horizons academically, artistically, and socially. Students might spend the afternoon in a group art project, in our computer lab/resource room, or on our brand new state-of-the-art playground! From homework help to science experiments, music lessons to community service projects, we make sure the education doesn't stop when school is over. Our model of experiential learning keeps our students’ minds and bodies active, promoting positive and productive youth development. During the summer, our students receive the full camp experience thanks to our partnership with Everwood Day Camp in Sharon, MA.

Somerville YMCA School Age Child Care Program

The main purpose of the Somerville YMCA School Age Child Care Program is to provide a safe, comfortable and reliable child care environment that fosters emotional maturity and promotes the physical, intellectual and social well-being of the school age child. Our primary intent is to help children develop to their fullest potential. The design of the program recognizes the need for play and its importance as a means for growth. Our curriculum is one that nurtures and responds to the developing needs of each individual child. The activities provide challenge, stimulation and an opportunity for self-expression.
