This free event is tailored toward those working in the Massachusetts cannabis industry but is open to anyone wanting to learn about the history of cannabis criminalization and legalization in Massachusetts. This event is a teach-in, focusing on an informational presentation about the attitudes toward cannabis use and sale before Massachusetts legalization, the process of legalization, and the current state of the cannabis industry and how it aims to be equitable for those formerly incarcerated or charged with cannabis crimes. The event will hopefully feature one or more speakers with experience in the cannabis industry or with cannabis incarceration before or after Massachusetts legalization. I am a student at Wellesley College working on a summer internship with the American Friends Service Committee's Healing Justice program to connect cannabis workers with those formerly incarcerated on cannabis-related charges. This is solely an educational event; it is not for-profit and there be no fundraising.
