Join the SPL Nonfiction Book Club at 7pm, March 11 on Zoom for a discussion of Melissa Fay Greene's Praying for Sheetrock. A New York Times Notable Book and National Book Award finalist, Praying for Sheetrock is the story of McIntosh County, an isolated area on the Georgia coast seemingly bypassed by the Civil Rights Movement. For decades the white sheriff ran McIntosh, until an unemployed Black man challenged the sheriff and his henchmen, changing this Georgia community forever. It is not necessary to have finished the book to join us.
