Johnny Cash: Songs and Stories - a Concert with Matt York

We are excited to host a concert with longtime New England musician/author Matt York as he performs songs and tell stories about the musical Highwaymen, highlighting country artist Johnny Cash.

Matt York will perform songs, and tell stories about Cash's career spanning from the 1950's to his passing in 2003. He'll discuss Cash's emergence as a groundbreaking artist in the 1950's, his marriage to June Carter and many of his other career highlights. 

About Matt York:

Matt York lives on the South Shore of MA and has traveled extensively through the years performing his own songs and also doing The Highwaymen Songs & Stories. In both 2022 and 2023, York was nominated for the Boston Music Award for "Best Country Artist". If you'd like info on Matt's original music and gigs, check out www.mattyorkmusic.com.

In 2019, The Boston Globe named Matt York's new album "Bruisable Heart" one of their top albums. Matt grew up in Foxboro, Massachusetts and began playing the clubs of Boston as a teenager. Since then, he's played on stages throughout the United States and Canada.

His Highwaymen - Songs & Stories series has allowed him to play 500 concerts over the past few years traveling from Toronto to Nashville and several places in between. His performances blend songs by the artists and stories about their upbringing and impact on music.
