The Somerville Public Schools (SPS) is a richly diverse learning community serving approximately 5,000 students in 11 innovative and creative school environments.

SPS places an emphasis on educating the “whole child” through a comprehensive hands-on curriculum that actively engages the student in their educational experience. The Center for Semi-Conducted Learning at Parts and Crafts

The Center for Semi-Conducted Learning (CSCL) is a school alternative program open to homeschoolers, unschoolers, and other people aged 7 to 13 interested in sharing a fun, creative, and exploratory space with like-minded people. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., with individual classes offered in science, engineering, art, and creative writing four days a week and one day reserved for offsite field trips

West Somerville Neighborhood School

Somerville Public Schools K-8 school. The West Somerville Neighborhood School (WSNS) is committed to improving and supporting student achievement by creating an environment for academic achievement, creative thinking, and community building. The WSNS state-of-the-art facility allows staff to meet the needs of all students and provides a safe, supportive and enriching environment where students can excel. Our goal is to teach our children the social and academic skills to be successful citizens of the 21st Century.

Winter Hill Community Innovation School

Somerville Public Schools K-8 school. The Winter Hill Community Innovation School is the district's first Innovation School. The school is a child-centered, academically rich environment that serves a population of students from culturally diverse backgrounds. It incorporates kindergarten, elementary, middle school, Sheltered English Immersion (SEIP) and Special Education programs taught by an experienced and caring faculty. The Winter Hill Wildcat Pledge: We, the Winter Hill Wildcat Family, pledge to show improvement in comprehension. In order to achieve our goal we will read daily, learn new vocabulary, and practice strategies to develop understanding of main ideas and inferences.
