November 12th and 13th Online & In Person: Prekindergarten & Kindergarten Information Sessions
Do you have a child who will be FOUR or FIVE years old by August 31st, 2026? Learn how to enroll your child in Somerville Public Schools PK and Kindergarten. In-person sessions will be held on Tuesday, November 11th (PK) and Wednesday, November12th (Kindergarten) from 5:30-6:30p.m. at East Somerville Community School.

Join the SPS Family Listening Sessions
This November and January, SPS parents and guardians are invited to join three Listening Sessions. Each session will have a different focus and will be a chance for families to share what's working well and how we can improve. Families may express interest in participating in more than one session. Special Education will be the topic on Wednesday, November 12th from 8:30-10a.m. at Somerville High School. This session is designed for families with children who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Sign up by November 4th!

Food resources and SPS Food Market on November 6th!
The food markets at East Somerville Community School and West Somerville Neighborhood School will be on THURSDAY, November 6th, 2:45-4:30p.m. indoors.

Free breakfasts & lunches remain in place
Massachusetts has confirmed that at this point in time, schools will be able to continue providing free breakfasts and lunches to families through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). All students in Somerville Public Schools can access free breakfasts, Monday - Friday, during the following times: Prekindergarten - 8th grades: 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. 9th - 12th grades: 7:15 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.

The Office of Immigrant Affairs is offering Know Your Rights training sessions to empower community members and families with essential information about their rights. These sessions are available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole (Cantonese, Mandarin, and Nepali upon request).
