Word on the Street: Poetry as Record

Word on the street is, history happens every day; While we drink our morning coffee, anxiously listen to news, commute to work, & share silly pictures on the internet. In this poetry workshop we’ll generate poetic records that process the overwhelming forces shaping daily life into personal truths we can grasp onto. We’ll study the craft of contemporary poets, learn new writing tools and exercises, sharpen our observation skills, brainstorm our wildest metaphors, respond to prompts, document our communities, and make an anthology as a cohort.
