Jack Gruman will screen a selection of his video projects and art installations from the last 5 years and hold an artist talk and Q&A. He will go into his process, the influences on his work, and major concepts that he explores - opening up a group discussion on LGBT art and politics.
The event will open with a short introduction to Jack and his art practice, as well as his media arts collective VHF STUDIO (based at the Central Street Studios building in Somerville) - about 15 minutes.
The screening portion will consist of 3-5 videos, a brief introduction to each by the artist, amounting to about 30 minutes.
This will be followed by a talk back, facilitated by another Somerville artist from Central Street Studios, during which attendees can ask questions about the work and Jack's practice - about 1 hour.
This event is a Community Benefit Event organized with the support of the Somerville Art Council and MCC.
