SPL Nonfiction Book Club: From the River to the Sea: The Untold Story of the Railroad War that Made

Join us August 13 at 7pm on Zoom for a discussion of John Sedgwick's From the River to the Sea: The Untold Story of the Railroad War that Made the West. Sedgwick vividly retells the story of the battle between two railroad magnates to reshape the American Southwest--a struggle with high financial and personal stakes. In addition to telling the story of how much of the contemporary US came into being, From the River to the Sea is a story peppered with many of the more colorful characters of the late nineteenth century (even Oscar Wilde makes an appearance).
