Senior Art Therapy: Landscapes with Meaning

Submitted by Anonymous on

For senior citizens interested in art therapy, we invite you to attend Landscapes with Meaning with Erica Curcio! Using collage materials, you'll create a unique landscape from a place you've been in your life or hope to go. Please bring a photo of a place that has meaning or interest to you! Together we will look at the colors of your photo and turn it into its own abstraction. We will be using collaging techniques to recreate these places.

This program is intended for adults age 60+, and space is limited so registration is required below.

About the Facilitator: Erica Curcio is a Massachusetts Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist specializing in Neurodegenerative Art Therapy. After a decade working in senior living communities, Erica recognized a critical gap in mental health care for older adults, particularly those living with cognitive or dementia disorders. In response, she founded Art Therapists at Home, a practice that brings art therapy directly to individuals in the comfort of their homes. Erica’s work empowers older adults to reconnect with creativity, rediscover joy, and build confidence through the transformative process of art.

This program is presented in collaboration with Somerville Council on Aging.
