Solo Violin Concerts by Joshua Peckins

Joshua Peckins “Music Speaks” violin recitals take listeners on an exciting journey from past to present, featuring classics of the past and contemporary pieces by living composers, with rich commentary and stories about the composers and music. An illuminating educational experience, as well as an opportunity to hear classical violin performance up close, these programs are a welcoming invitation to the violin and its repertoire of old and present day.

Joshua Peckins, violinist, has performed at the Somerville Libraries regularly over the past decade. Trained both locally at the New England Conservatory and the Yale School of Music, and abroad at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts, Peckins has presented solo concerts nationally and internationally throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and has been described by the President of the International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition as, “...intensive, profound, intelligent...” Click here for Peckins' full biography.
