MBTA Reduced Fare Card Enrollment

The MBTA Mobility Center will be coming to Somerville Public Library, West Branch on Monday, March 16th from 5-7 PM to help community members apply for Income-Eligible Reduced Fares (IERF) and Senior CharlieCards!

The Senior CharlieCard provides a 50% discount on all MBTA fares, including on the Commuter Rail and RIDE paratransit. Anyone age 65 or older can apply. To apply for the Senior CharlieCard, you will need to bring any form of government-issued photo ID with your date of birth.

The IERF provides a 50% discount on all MBTA fares, including on the Commuter Rail and RIDE paratransit. Anyone age 18-64 who receives benefits from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (examples below) can apply.

To apply for the IERF, you will need to bring either:

A valid Massachusetts ID or driver's license

OR

Another form of government-issued photo ID with your date of birth

AND

A copy of a benefits verification letter from the last three months

MassHealth CarePlus

MassHealth Family Assistance

MassHealth Limited

MassHealth Standard

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC)
