Join the SPL and Chef Diego Gomes for a live, in-person cooking demonstration and sampling of traditional Strogonoff Frango (Brazilian Chicken Stroganoff).

Stroganoff: a Russian dish that conquered Brazil

Stroganoff, despite being a very famous recipe among Brazilians, was born in Russia and was a dish served to Russian nobility. In Brazil, it became popular in the 1970s and was a special food, served at parties. It didn't take long for stroganoff to arrive on the plates of all Brazilians and today it is part of our daily lives.

In this recipe you will learn how to make simple chicken strogonoff, but did you know that there are many variations of the dish? Beef stroganoff, shrimp stroganoff, vegan stroganoff, fit stroganoff, mushroom stroganoff, low carb strogonoff.

About The Chef:

Chef Diego Gomes received his gastronomy degree in Brazil and specializes in the preparation of Brazilian foods. He has worked in restaurants, catered small and large parties, and provided his services as a personal chef. Chef Diego creates delicious breads, empadas, in a variety of sizes and flavors which is he now making available for sale to the public.

Full recipe will be provided to attendees after the workshop.  This presentation will be in Portuguese with interpretation into English offered by SomerViva: Office of Immigrant Affairs.

O strogonoff, apesar de ser uma receita muito famosa entre os brasileiros, nasceu na Rússia e era um prato servido para nobreza russa. No Brasil, se popularizou nos anos 1970 e era uma comida especial, servida em festas. Não demorou muito, o strogonoff chegou nos pratos de todos os brasileiros e hoje faz parte do nosso dia a dia.
