The 2024 Somerville Family Day is the culmination of a parent health needs assessment study that was conducted through a collaboration between SomerBaby at Somerville Public Schools and researchers at Tufts University School of Medicine. This study is called Project INSPIRE: Improving New Somerville Parent and Infant Resiliency and Engagement. This project identified pressing needs among Somerville parents.
In response, the 2024 Somerville Family Day will present basic findings and also resources to the Somerville community. More specifically, there will be a series of tabling sessions in which representatives from organizations across Somerville and the Greater Boston Area will present educational content and resources — ranging from social services to extracurricular to health care sectors. Additionally, a limited amount of Nurture Kit (new parent toolkits) will be distributed to eligible parents. We hope that the 2024 Somerville Family Day will serve as a fun summer event and provide networking opportunities for local families!
