SPS Screenings for 3 and 4 year old children

Main content

Do you have concerns or questions about how your preschool child is learning and developing?

If yes, the Somerville Public School is offering free screenings to identify children who may be eligible for Special Education services.
A screening is a short test to determine if a child is having trouble in specific learning areas such as communication, movement and problem solving.
Children sit with a staff person to complete activities with blocks, puzzles, paper and crayons and other materials
while parents/caregivers meet and answer questions to help SPS staff understand what a child can do.

Children who are three years old by August 31, 2017 who are not already attending
the SMILE or the Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) are eligible for this screening.

Screenings will happen on:
• Wednesday, November 8th, 2017
• 8:30-12:00 noon
• Capuano Early Childhood Center
150 Glen Street
Somerville, MA 02145
